A loud and dizzy ride at the Louisiana State Fair. The girl working the ride was very charismatic and entertaining. You can see her dancing and getting the riders pumped up.

Dance Koji!
Koji is a very sweet and loving dog. He absolutely adores his foster family. We rescued him from certain death at Lafayette Animal Control. He was heartworm positive when we got him. He has been through heartworm treatments, and has been on heartworm prevention ever since he finished treatment. We got him neutered and fully vetted. He is still looking for a forever home.
Koji is a very smart dog. He will dance on command. He also knows come and sit and leave it. He is a great house dog. He is wonderful with kids, dogs, and even cats!

Rescued Guinea Pigs
We have a waiting list of people wanting to adopt a rescued Guinea Pig. I told the local animal control that I wanted them to let me know the next time they had a Guinea Pig surrendered. On Friday, March 28, 2008 I got a phone call to come and get 24 Guinea Pigs that someone was at the pound surrendering. I told her I did not think I had enough cages. But, that I would look and see what I had before I went. They called back a few minutes later and said that someone took 5, so there was only 19 left. After setting up cages, we went and picked them up. This photo was taken when we were loaded up and ready to leave animal control. When we got home we counted them, and found we had 23 Guinea Pigs, as a litter had been born while in the pound. They will all be available for adoption soon.

Momma Guinea Pig and Her Four Five Day Old Babies
We rescued this beautiful Chocolate and White Abyssinian Guinea Pig from Roicy Duhon Animal Control (Lafayette Animal Control), along with 22 other guinea pigs. She, and several other piggies, were already pregnant when we saved them from certain death. She gave birth to four babies on April 8, 2008. As you can see in this video, the babies want to stay as close to Mom as possible. They follow her everywhere. Once weaned, they will be available for adoption through the Acadiana Humane Society and Cat Ranch.

Storm Approaching
We have tornado watches today, and are expecting heavy rainstorms, and 45 mph winds. It is not bad yet. But, you can see and hear the wind in this video as the bad weather is headed in our direction.

Storm Approaching, Dogs Ears Flying
Toby was barking like crazy as I was taking a video of the strong winds as a big storm is approaching today. If you look closely, you can see Toby's ears flapping in the wind. Sometimes his ears stay up and he looks like he will fly away using his ears to sail across the wind.

Lightning Going to the Vet
Lightning is quiet vocal as we cross the Atchafalaya early this morning to go to a vet in Baton Rouge to have another round of lab work done. Lightning is still underweight since she had liver problems. But, her blood and urine work today was much improved from her initial lab work. Her bilirubin level is still elevated, but not as much as it was before. Her protein is a little high. But, everything else is better then it was. Everything in her exam looked good. He recommended keeping her on the Science Diet Rx L/D food, and seeing if she puts on some weight. If she does not gain weight in the next 4 to 6 weeks, then he recommends running the lab work again to see where she is at. The only diagnosis he could give was possible hepatitis.

Victor Watching the Rain
Victor, one of our adoptable foster cats, loves to sit in the window and look outside. He spent a lot of time watching the rain today.

Rain
We had a really bad storm this afternoon. Heavy flooding rains, thunder, lightning, strong winds, and some areas had hail and tornadoes. Video taken March 3, 2008.

Talking Dog
Precious the Cocker Spaniel loves to talk to Sharon, her caretaker at the boarding facility. In this video, Sharon is talking to her, and if you watch closely, you can see Precious moving her mouth as she softly responds to her and carries on a conversation with her. This video was taken today, February 29, 2008, before Precious left on a transport to Memphis, TN. She is on her way to her new foster home with Cocker Spaniel Rescue.

Grandma
Grandma will talk when a hand approaches her head. This means she wants to be petted. When she is happy she wags her tail, or what is left of it. When we first got Grandma, her tail was badly infected and festering. It had to be removed.
Grandma is enjoying some attention in this video. Ed is jealous.
