It's a boy! Shirley had her calf a couple of nights ago. Proud Aunt Laverne has been very diligent about helping and keeping watch. We named the calf Squiggy. :)

How did God touch your life today?
It is amazing how taking a few minutes to enjoy something beautiful can really replenish your being. This is a sunset I caught last night. If you are feeling run over and fried, I offer you this video as a chance to 'stop and smell the roses' for a moment. :)

Saddle Up, David!
Slideshow of my son's experience riding at Saddle Up, a theraputic riding center. He participated in the horse show and won second place. The day after the horse show, Heidi (a Norwegian Fjord like David's horse Bjorg) finally had her baby and David got to go over to meet new little Danika and help wash Heidi's "milker" so the baby could feed. This has been such a great experience for David to get to work with horses and so many wonderful people.

Vader uncorked, I mean, unmasked
Just some footage I grabbed of my sons having a bit too much fun. David was making a little "Star Wars" movie and after filming they headed to the backyard to blow off some steam. I gotta get a freakin' liver transplant just so I can keep up with this kid!!!!!!! :)

"David" by Robert Munsch
Children's author Robert Munsch wrote this poem for my son.
After his second liver transplant, David began calling his scar his "shark bite".
One day we were at the beach when a shark was spotted in the water. People were being told to get out of the water and things got a bit crazy. My son David, dressed in just his swimming shorts, was running back and forth yelling at the top of his lungs, "I think that's the shark that bit me!!!" People noticed the huge scar across David's tummy and began to stare in amazement. It really did look as if David had been attacked by a shark.
In 2003 my friend related this story to Mr. Munsch and he penned this little poem for David.
"David"
In the hospital
In the dark,
I got bit
By a hospital shark.
They swim the hallways
Late at night
Looking for kids
That taste just right.
But I was lucky
Cause, you see,
The shark didn't like
The taste of me.
He took one bite
And swam away
And that's why I'm
Alive today.

My Ode to Missouri
Hath not old custom made this life more sweet
Than that of painted pomp?...
Even till I shrink with cold (this from a California girl!), I smile and say,
This is no flattery: these are counsellors
That feelingly persuade me what I am.
Sweet are the uses of adversity;
Which, like the toad, ugly and venomous,
Wears yet a precious jewel in his head;
And this our life, exempt from public haunt
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in everything.
I would not change it.
