Every time I hear this song I find myself thinking of Danny. He can't seem to figure out who he is or fit in. And every time he manages to climb the ladder to popularity or power, he finds it empty and unsatisfying and the climb back down is long because he manages to shun his friends or family for said popularity/power. He also tends to dance "on the grave of what he thought was still alive" because even after whatever he had with a girl is over he tends to pine after them. I felt it fit.
