A strange place I have visited every now and then for a few years. Devoid of any human, house, bird, insect, fish yet has streets and stop signs covered in mildew and rusting off at the bases. This vid comes with this caption In 1979, some friends and I were messing around with a video camera in a slum area of town that had largely burned down and never been rebuilt. The video camera was old, with a heavy, over the shouder separate deck, obsolete even then. We saw some stuff flying around the buildings. At first we thought they were kites or maybe some radio controlled toy planes. We never did figure out what they were, but we got some of the stuff on video. It appeared as if there were two things, one smaller than the other. They moved pretty fast, so we guessed they were light, like balloons. They would fly away, then come back, for about a half hour. The tapes and camera ended up forgotten in a pile of junk in the basement. I just dug out the tapes, which are disintegrating. Unfortunately, I can't get the audio to work, so the weird noise can't be heard. The old deck functions just well enough to watch a few inches at a time of the tape. After playing a few seconds, the heads have to be cleaned, and the tape has snapped in a few places. I'm transferring what survives to digital format, and posting it here for anyone who's interested in this sort of thing.

American Bald Eagle July 04 07 They are off hte endangered list so we can start eating them again. .. JUST KIDDING! EASY, It was only a joke. This Eagle hunts our lake We saw him take a large fish one day and I hope to get him on tape catching one. It is SUPER HARD to do as any motion on the shore scares the fish and the Eagle cruises away. Just getting a shot like this is hard enough. Once I was on the tenth floor of a condo and I got a fly by on tape of one but it was through a screen. It's feet were as big as my hands! When you see one of these cruise slowly by at less than 30 feet away you will FREAK! These are spectacular animals (birds).

300 WEATHERBY MAG First run made in West Germany. The legendary Weatherby 300 Mag. Coco Bolo forend LOW five digit ser # with beautiful Walnut furniture. I got this in two peices. The guy who had it let his son put a Polyeuratane finish over the oil finish wich then turned black and cloudy. He was going to throw the stock away and get a poly or composite stock,and sell it. I said I'd take it WITH the old wood stock. I still can't believe he was going to throw this stock away.(Makes me a little woozy) It looked like crap until I carefuly sanded the poly off reaveling the "fiddle back" pattern.I showed it to my buddy and his mouth dropped open. My gun guy did a little checking on it and said it's worth between $3,000.00 and $30,000.00. The Coco bolo tip makes the gun worth $500 more than one that doesn't have it. The bluing is 99.9% with only a little scorch mark around the muzzle.It is the most highly polished metal finish I ever saw. I had a cheap scope on it and it shot a 1" group at 240 yards before it blew the scope out.
