I inadvertently (because I accidentally deleted them) left some images out of the video... Here they are, without sound... You may hum, if you like.
They are (in order) Grape leaf, Allium (garlic family) seed head, Chive flower, Anemone.

Photos of My Garden (for Judith)
Judith had asked for photos of the garden. These are some I took today. Unfortunately, because of all the rain in the last few weeks not only are the plants very "leggy" but the flowers are somewhat the worse for wear.
I picked the last (or what I THOUGHT were the last) of the ripe wild strawberries which have spread across the lawn. Afterwords I mowed and there were hundreds of unpicked ripe ones squashed and mangled across the yard.
The flowers that you see (in no particular order) are Peonies, Explorer Roses, Anemones, Allium seed heads, Chives, Daisies, Mock Orange, Honeysuckle, Evening Primrose buds, Grape vines, and a rare wild Clematis which rooted itself in the garden (not in bloom until the end of the summer).

My Garden, again.
It has been raining heavily, as well as thundering steadily all day (little actual lightning). I thought I would show off my messy garden. I took some footage of my strawberries but I did it so quickly that you actually saw more of my feet while I turned off the camera than you saw of the strawberries.

Response from the Grand Chief of the Assembly of First Nations
Phil Fontaine, Grand Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Residential School survivor, and victim of abuse, gives his emotional and moving response on behalf of the First Nations to Prime Minister Harper's apology for its role in the Indian Residential Schools.
It makes me more proud than I can articulate to have participated in the process of enabling the resolution of cases for former students, as well as working towards healing and a brighter future for the Aboriginal community in Canada.

Memorial/Sunset
Some photos taken over the last few days... sunset, a memorial to a father drowned in the Rideau River, rainy sky... Sort of loosely tied in theme.

Rain Music: "Lazy Eye"
The beat of the windshield wipers fit just right this lovely some by HEM.... Yet another beautiful sky (and rainstorm!) in the Ottawa area, this time just south of Manotick.

Rainy Sky
Another amazing sky along the Rideau River.... This time with thunder and a little, almost imperceptible, lightning.

Amazing Sky... storm brewing!
We have had some amazing weather in the last few weeks. This was filmed about 2 weeks ago. I just haven't had a chance to upload it, yet.

"Garden"
Some photos of some of the flowers currently in bloom in my garden. Allium (the first time neighbourhood kids haven't either taken the blooms for a gift for their mother or just knocked them off), Weigela, and Herb Robert. In a few days the wild strawberries should ripen.
I can't walk across the yard until they do as the entire back lawn is strawberries -- tiny and sweet. Yum!

Evelyn Dall in "Soft Lights and Sweet Music"
"Wilson, Keppel and Betty" are apparently the dancers performing in this clip. Obviously, dance tastes were a little different back when this movie was made. Sort of Snuff / Apache dance... Weird!
According to what I can tell, this is the finale of "Cleopatra's Nightmare", a dance they did in a number of movies and on the stage, including for Joseph Goebbels who was disgusted at the display of their bare legs, calling them ‘bad for the morals of Nazi Youth’ (and promoting genocide isn't?) and Mussolini, who is said to have loved the act.
Apparently, Betty Knox eventually left the troupe and became a journalist, eventually reporting on the Nuremberg trials! (She was also one of the first correspondents to report on the suicide of Herman Goering). She was replaced in the act by her daughter, Patsy, and then by a string of other dancers, though the name "Betty" remained the name of the female part of the act.
