These paintings were done in a technique I call "mosaicism" because people always want to touch them; never quite such of what they are seeing. I paint the canvas black and then add dots with a specially formed store-bought brush. I always try to prevent the dots fron touching each other, or, being too far apart. Wanting to make sure I was right in telling questioners that this was not pointilism, I checked several art books for definitions and this is NOT pointilism! A single painting may have 33,000 dots that I apply individually. I have probably done millions of dots, literally; I know I have worn my favorite brush down to the metal!

Overview of my paintings and drawings by LaHelen
Rating: 18
This selection of paintings and drawings contains a watercolor that had no pre-planning, approximately 50 yeard ago up to paintings done this year. This is the first video anyone has ever made of my work and I am very proud of it and grateful to Elena for suggesting, and then doing it.
