Leo Blachford, age 19, from Evolution Martial Arts in his 1st MMA Fight. Leo had been training for only 4 months, but wanted to jump in the ring and try it out. He fought hard, but lost by submission via guillotine choke in round two. Still, not bad for only 4 months of training.

One of my friends decided to try fighting MMA, so he signed up for a KTK fight that took place here at Stevens Point, hosted by the Country Springs hotel. He was put against a more experienced fighter with a record of 2-1. Before the fight the referee told the fighters that there would be no knees while on the ground; however, the other fighter gets away with 4 of them with the referee watching. Even though he lost, my friend plans to fight in more KTK matches in the future. My friend has some experience in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kick Boxing, and Judo. http://www.ktk1.com

Me sparring at belt testing, I'm the taller one. I don't mean to kick people in the face, but I got this guy in the nose, I may have broken it; however, he looked fine afterwards. I fall because our knees contact and he got me in that sweet spot right undel the knee cap on the side.

Highlights from the board breaking session

Karate and Tae Kwon Do fighter, Angel Baez, age 14 from Evolution Martial Arts (red trunks) vs. Muay Thai fighter, Aron Set Heit, age 14 from Master John Muay Thai (blue trunks) This was Angel's first Muay Thai rules fight. Slightly modified rules- No elbows, and no knees to the face. His opponent was 1-1-0 going into the fight. Both fighters had been training in their respective styles for about 1 year. The fight resulted in a draw.
