Hydrocarbons are another contaminant contained in gasoline. Current legalization in Canada is very weak and rarely enforced. The government needs to create tougher standards and ensure that corporatations are forced to clean up and remove the source of contaminates. Healthcare providers need to monitor this situation to determine the risk factor.
