The Patriot Guard came to Berea, KY, to provide honor and respect for the family who lost a son in the Iraq War. Many students and community members from Berea and the surrounding area came to support the Patriot Guard. There much anticipation that the protesters from Westboro Baptist Church (Fred Phelps' "God Hates Fags" group) were going to come, and so hundreds of people came to show they will not tolerate the disrespectful nature of the protests. On this cold day we won, standing together thinking and talking about respect, honor, and unity. The Westboro Baptist Church people did not show up.
