Fernando Torres took his tally to 32 goals for the season as Liverpool eased to a win over Manchester City.
Torres left Richard Dunne trailing and angled in a shot to put the Reds ahead just after Martin Petrov's free-kick hit the post at the other end.
The Reds had chances to wrap up the game but Dirk Kuyt's header struck the crossbar and Ryan Babel skied a shot.
City rarely threatened but almost punished the home side only for Pepe Reina to save Benjani's late free-kick.

Chelsea 0-0 Liverpool 10th Feb 2008
Chelsea and Liverpool fought out a gritty goalless draw at Stamford Bridge which did little for the differing aspirations of either side.
The visitors, missing the injured Fernando Torres in attack, had the best of the first half with Peter Crouch shooting just wide on 18 minutes.
Yet Chelsea were unlucky not to be given a first-half penalty when Javier Mascherano skidded into Joe Cole.
Liverpool now lie fifth and Chelsea sit five points behind leaders Arsenal.

Liverpool's No. 9
Fernando Torres is a Spanish footballer. He plays for Liverpool Football Club, an English football (soccer) team that I support. Torres - who wears the number 9 shirt - has made a massive impact since signing for my club and this commercial attempts to show how the city of Liverpool could be as a result of his influence.

19th Feb Liverpool 2-0 Inter Milan
Liverpool left it late to take control of their Champions League tie against 10-man Inter Milan and ease the pressure on manager Rafael Benitez.
Marco Materazzi harshly saw red on the half hour for two clumsy challenges on Fernando Torres, but Inter held firm.
Torres forced a superb save from Julio Cesar, while Patrick Vieira was lucky not to concede a penalty for handball.
But Dirk Kuyt eased home nerves with a deflected shot on 85 minutes and Steven Gerrard's firm drive sealed a fine win.

Tottenham 0-2 Liverpool Voronin, Torres
Goals from Andriy Voronin and Fernando Torres secured a comfortable victory for Liverpool over Tottenham in a lack-lustre affair at White Hart Lane.
Voronin opened the scoring midway through the second-half slipping the ball past Radek Cerny after latching onto Torres' flick-on.
Torres then made it 2-0 with a superb individual effort, his 24th league goal of his debut Liverpool season.
The Spaniard also hit the crossbar with a fine chip late on.
Although both teams had little to play for, Liverpool being secure in fourth place and Tottenham stuck in mid-table, entertainment was in short supply early on.
The visitors shaded a poor first 45 minutes, dominating possession with Tottenham struggling to get out of their half.

Birmingham 2-2 Liverpool
Birmingham let a two-goal lead slip against Liverpool as they were denied a crucial win in their relegation battle.
Mikael Forssell lashed in a shot at the far post to put the Blues ahead, with Sebastian Larsson's exquisite long range free-kick adding to their lead.
But Peter Crouch guided in a shot to haul the Reds back into the game.
And as Liverpool penned the Blues back, Yossi Benayoun equalised with a deflected header, which all-but secures fourth spot for the Anfield side.
The point moves them nine ahead of fifth-placed Everton, who have three games left but an inferior goal difference.
Liverpool made nine changes to the team which drew 1-1 with Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek, although there was only one change from the second string side which beat Fulham last week.
There was little in the way of goalmouth action in the early stages but Birmingham slowly increased their level of urgency.
