Fear 101: "The Three Levels of Fear" An encapsulation of "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway" by Susan Jeffers, the first of many books I'm reading on the nature of fear. Self-help stuff is not my cup of tea- I tend to get what I need from the first two chapters and the rest is all fluff. I found the levels of fears to be comforting for some reason- perhaps at the thought of being able to categorize them, implying we had the upper hand and could shuffle them like a freakin' deck of cards. I like the idea that if I could just believe that I can handle ANYthing that comes my way, then all other fears could be proven baseless. If I look at my life, I could see that and know it, yet those stubborn fears remain. Curiosities now, as a result of seeing many of my fears crowded into "level 2"- the nature of ego. I need to list my fears- the ones I'm aware of, anyway.

RIP: Vincenzo Riccardi, 1935-2005 I initially thought I made this video in memory of Mr. Riccardi, and as a way to think more deeply about my relationships with others. But in reading comments, especially dancingwithabroom's, I realized that it's possibly the fear of being forgotten that made me feel so deeply for this man. Time to refocus Keep me honest, friends. Kick me in the shin if I don't take it up a notch on them chronicles! There's a whole lot to be fearful of these days, for sure.

Dentaphobia: "ten a.m." Note to dentaphobes: There are no disturbing images in this series- I couldn't bear it myself!! Just before a visit to the dentist, trying hard to push through a BIG fear of mine. (The brief blue pics of me in the car and in a later part of this series, and they're an attempt at helping me to transplant negative senses with a vision that's associated with positivity in some way- you'd have to see Part III to find out why it's positive, although you're pretty smart, so you've probably already guessed...)

I FEAR HATE

This is a FEAR-stalking channel I made a New Year's resolution to stalk my irrational fears and use this vlog to hold myself accountable. In this vid, fear gets the best of me...but hopefully not for long.

"On the way there..." As I ponder the mental-health issues of manic-vloggin', I realize the lure of it- that what some of us are doing is re-telling ourselves...we're MYTH-making. We're re-creating ourselves and shaping our own mythologies. We do it as a species and we do it as individuals to find meaning and purpose. Oooh...epiphany...
