The TV program you missed yesterday could be in your postbox tomorrow: it's a practical solution and an extension of the Qflix model, applied to catch-up TV, but concentrating on obtaining content from broadcasts. Due to the limited amount of major studios content currently available, we describe the systems and technology to take local broadcast material and supply it on Demand on MPEG-2 DVD to viewers. Disc-On-Demand Pty Ltd systems capture video from live TV, convert and index it automatically, and then allow viewers to order up to two hours of MPEG-2 quality video at low cost to be in the post the next day.
