This is a song I wrote many years ago in the days when corporal punishment was still considered an acceptable part of educating children. It got an extraordinary response on YouTube, where a number of people made personal attacks on me, apparently believing that the views expressed by the character in the song are my own views. They seriously thought I was suggesting a child should be punished for coming from a broken home or that teachers should be beaten up for going on strike. I realised later that a "spanking blog" had linked to this song, and that presumably people were finding it for all the wrong reasons!
