The MTA Will Always Let You Down-The Baghdaddios Live
ING NYC Marathon - November 5, 2006 Written the morning of the now-infamous New York MTA strike this faux-country nugget was still brand-new to the group's live show when they performed it here at their annual appearance at the ING NYC Marathon on New York's Upper East Side. Deprived of a stage at the last minute the group doggedly plowed ahead with their show, slamming through over 8 hours of Marathon time for thousands upon thousands of freezing spectators - many of which who were visitors from around the country (and even from around the world!). This performance occurs half-way through the day's events and went over well enough to spur several dozen people to request the song for sale on CD. The performance you now see was captured by MNN Cable Show Host Sally Squieres.

Welcome To New York - The Baghdaddios LIVE @ NYC Marathon
A long-standing favourite for the past decade, The Baghdaddios found themselves without a stage area at the last minute, before appearing at the 2006 Marathon. Setting up RIGHT on the sidewalk, the band churned out one tune after the other - pretty soon foresaking the normal setlist and basically improvising on tunes that they either knew together, had always wanted to try - or even fake their way through, on the suggestion of passerbys and Marathon spectators alike! Playing for approximately 8 hours with few breaks, the group left NO musical stone unturned. Here, mid-way through the moderately cool Sunday afternoon, they trot out there signature tune - from their first album - "Welcome To New York"!

The band stopped in Hertford to play at The Marquee. A special thanks to Ben Hewer and Kev Saunders for making this possible.
