In defense of mythology and the metaphor in general in explaining the abstract. Also the contributions mythology, rituals, religion and symbols make to society. Primitive (Enkidu) verses Civilized (Gilgamesh)motif in the Epic of Gilgamesh. Although in mythology Gilgamesh was was part god and knew and conquered all he still had to face death. In his struggle with Enkidu he discovers he needed him in his struggle. Same conflict shows up between Cain and Able.
