Brighton Pier (originally called Palace Pier) is a wonderful example of an old historic amusement pier, which is located at the southern seaport of Brighton, England. Construction on the pier began in 1891 and opened in May 1899, with a construction cost of around $300,000 (a LOT of money back then!). A concert hall opened on the pier two years later, but now no longer exists. Much of the original pier architecture remains, so when you walk on the pier, it’s like going back to a different era! Pier Amusement is the collection of cheesy fairground rides, amusement arcades and stalls offering everything from fish and chips to tarot card readings.The pier also has a family entertainment centre in the pleasure dome.

Argh! Well, I wish I took more shots. I think I was a little restless, hungry, had to pee. I do like some of them. I love the shot of the ride where the people are hanging by the wire and they spin around. I used to love that ride. I gotta go an amusement park. I haven't been for years. that's sad. I love any type of ride. The Navy Pier is touristy. It's a good place to take your kids. This is the Sea and Cake. One of my favorite bands. This is 'Parasol' off their 'Nassau' album. It's great. They have this laid-back, lounge style. I recommend their early albums, this one and 'The biz' and 'the fawn' I just got their new, but I'm a bit disappointed.

We could've also done one on any of the thrilling rides and attractions all over the Steel Pier, but we were trying to prevent whiplash. Plus we wanted time to play the dozens of exciting games, win big stuffed animals, and fill up on funnel cake. You can't spend a day at the Atlantic City boardwalk without stopping by the Steel Pier for all of the rides, food, and fun. And make sure to give the slingshot a try too.

A fierce fire destroyed a historic seaside pier in western England on Monday morning, quickly reducing the major tourist attraction to a flaming wreck.There were no immediate reports of any casualties. (July 28)
