Anybody who misses this chance is not likely to be given another, to be brought back again and again, because it says in Qur'an Majeed that when man is brought to account, he will say, "O Lord, send us back and give us another chance." The Lord will say, "If I send you back you will do the same." MY EARLY RELIGIOUS UPBRINGING I was brought up in the modern world of all the luxury and the high life of show business. I was born in a Christian home, but we know that every child is born in his original nature - it is only his parents that turn him to this or that religion. I was given this religion (Christianity) and thought this way. I was taught that God exists, but there was no direct contact with God, so we had to make contact with Him through Jesus - he was in fact the door to God. This was more or less accepted by me, but I did not swallow it all. I looked at some of the statues of Jesus; they were just stones with no life. And when they said that God is three, I was puzzled even more but could not argue. I more or less believed it, because I had to have respect for the faith of my parents. POP STAR Gradually I became alienated from this religious upbringing. I started making music. I wanted to be a big star. All those things I saw in the films and on the media took hold of me, and perhaps I thought this was my God, the goal of making money. I had an uncle who had a beautiful car. "Well," I said, "he has it made. He has a lot of money." The people around me influenced me to think that this was it; this world was their God. I decided then that this was the life for me; to make a lot of money, have a 'great life.' Now my examples were the pop stars. I started making songs, but deep down I had a feeling for humanity, a feeling that if I became rich I would help the needy. (It says in the Qur'an, we make a promise, but when we make something, we want to hold onto it and become greedy.) So what happened was that I became very famous. I was still a teenager, my name and photo were splashed in all the media. They made me larger than life, so I wanted to live larger than life and the only way to do that was to be intoxicated (with liquor and drugs). IN HOSPITAL After a year of financial success and 'high' living, I became very ill, contracted TB and had to be hospitalized. It was then that I started to think: What was to happen to me? Was I just a body, and my goal in life was merely to satisfy this body? I realized now that this calamity was a blessing given to me by Allah, a chance to open my eyes - "Why am I here? Why am I in bed?" - and I started looking for some of the answers. At that time there was great interest in the Eastern mysticism. I began reading, and the first thing I began to become aware of was death, and that the soul moves on; it does not stop. I felt I was taking the road to bliss and high accomplishment. I started meditating and even became a vegetarian. I now believed in 'peace and flower power,' and this was the general trend. But what I did believe in particular was that I was not just a body. This awareness came to me at the hospital. One day when I was walking and I was caught in the rain, I began running to the shelter and then I realized, 'Wait a minute, my body is getting wet, my body is telling me I am getting wet.' by Ishaq Zahid The 'Five Pillars' of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life: * Faith or belief in the Oneness of God (Allah) and the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad (pbuh); * Establishment of the daily prayers; * Concern for and almsgiving to the needy; * Self-purification through fasting; and * The pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able. Iman or Faith "There is none worthy of worship except God (Allah) and Muhammad is the messenger of God." This declaration of faith is called the Shahadah, a simple formula that all the faithful pronounce. The significance of this declaration is the belief that the only purpose of life is to serve and obey God, and this is achieved through the teachings and practices of the Last Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh). Salah or Prayer Salah is the name for the obligatory prayers that are performed five times a day, and are a direct link between the worshipper and God. There is no hierarchical authority in Islam and there are no priests. Prayers are led by a learned person who knows the Qur'an and is generally chosen by the congregation. Prayers are said at dawn, mid-day, late-afternoon, sunset and nightfall, and thus determine the rhythm of the entire day. These five prescribed prayers contain verses from the Qur'an, and are said in Arabic, the language of the Revelation. Personal supplications, however, can be offered in one's own language and at any time. Although it is preferable to worship together in a mosque, a Muslim may pray almost anywhere, such as in fields, offices, factories and universities. Oftentimes visitors to the Muslim world are struck by the centrality of prayers in daily life. A translation of the Adan or Call to Prayer is: God is Great. God is Great. God is Great. God is Great. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except God. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except God. I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God. The financial obligation upon Muslims. An important principle of Islam is that everything belongs to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust. The word zakah means both "purification" and "growth." Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need and for the society in general. Like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth. Each Muslim calculates his or her own zakah individually. This involves the annual payment of a fortieth of one's capital, excluding such items as primary residence, car and professional tools. An individual may also give as much as he or she pleases as sadaqa-h, and does so preferably in secret. Although this word can be translated as "voluntary charity" it has a wider meaning. The Prophet said, "Even meeting your brother with a cheerful face is an act of charity." The Prophet also said: "Charity is a necessity for every Muslim." He was asked: "What if a person has nothing?" The Prophet replied: "He should work with his own hands for his benefit and then give something out of such earnings in charity." The Companions of the Prophet asked: "What if he is not able to work?" The Prophet said: "He should help the poor and needy." The Companions further asked: "What if he cannot do even that?" The Prophet said: "He should urge others to do good." The Companions said: "What if he lacks that also?" The Prophet said: "He should check himself from doing evil. That is also an act of charity." Who does the Real historical Messiah call his God? and Who was Prophet Mohammad? There is no Geezeez mangod/Sungod here. ALLAH (Alaha, EL Lah) is the highest name of God of Abraham in Aramaic and Hebrew which the Messiah Son of man used and when translated from Hebrew to English it is written as EL Lah which stands for LIVING GOD in Hebrew or to be more precise, THE ETERNALLY LIVING One, that alone encompasses all Godly attributes. Now the name can differ in writing but when correctly pronounced it is the SOUND which matters. The Old Testament is not one book but several books written at different times hence the spelling or pronunciation can be slightly different but overall the name is still there. You will note that many translations or manuscripts wrongly show only "EL" the generic term for God but the Prophets never called ALLAH just "EL" and then added the title or attribute to it, They always called out the name ALLAH THE ETERNALLY LIVING and then added the title or attribute as in -- Almighty. Now the other variations created due to the fact of being in a different book from a different period and different scribes which have been given different meanings but they still mimic the actual name ALLAH. ELoah, ELLah, Elohim all reflect the name ALLAH (God Living) since no other God can have those attributes or meanings Hence ONLY THE ETERNALLY LIVING One "ALLAH" IS THE TRUE NAME FOR ALL TIMES. Here is the hidden name which Only Allah used directly (YHVY ALLAH) I AM ETERNALLY LIVING GOD, it is these words which no man should utter since it would be blasphemy. I only wrote it to reveal the truth but do not utter it or read it more then once. YHVH is only reference to the actual name and not the name itself If you read Genesis 17:1 where the Covenant took place the name of God is not "YHVH" or merely "EL- Shaddai" instead in reality is "AL Lah Shaddai" (Living God Almighty) and When Moses was told I AM who I AM, it did not mean that my name is "I AM" or “Yahwah” because what was being expressed was the fact that, (Moses you already know who I am why then seek a new name), Allah gives his name again in the next verses in Exodus 3:15 and 3:16 and that name is forever not I AM as misunderstood by christians. Allah created Adam and Eve and enjoined them to worship Him and live a life of obedience to the Divine Will. Allah is the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe and of human beings. Man must turn to Him for sustenance and guidance. The very word Islam means obedience to God. In this respect, Islam is man's natural religion---the only natural course is for man to look towards Him for guidance. The day Adam and Eve were sent down to live on earth, Allah told them that they were His servants and He was their Master and Creator. He told them and mankind that the best course was for them to follow His guidance, to obey His orders and to refrain from what He had forbidden. God said to them that He would be pleased if they obeyed Him and in turn He would reward them. If, however, they did not heed His commands, He would be displeased and would punish them. This was the simple beginning of Islam. Adam and Eve invited their children to follow the Islamic way of life. They and their children and their later generations followed the teachings of Islam as propounded by Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) for quite a long period of time. It was only later on that certain people began disobeying Allah. Some of them began worshipping other gods of their own making, some of them regarded themselves as gods, while a few others even declared their freedom to do as they pleased--defying God's orders. This is how kufr (disbelief) came into being. Its essence lies in refusal to worship God--pursuing the path of defiance to the Creator. When kufr (disbelief) began to increase and multiply it affected the life of society in a number of ways. Exploitation, oppression, viciousness and immorality emerged in different forms. Life became intolerable. Allah then appointed some righteous people to preach the Message of Truth among the wrongdoers, invite them to the Right Path and convert them to God-fearing people--worshipping and obeying God Alone. In short, they were asked to perform a mission--to make people righteous and true Muslims. These noble people entrusted with this great mission were called Prophets or Messengers of Allah. Allah sent these Prophets to different nations and countries. All of them were honest, truthful, and people of noble character. All of them preached the same religion--Islam. To mention a few names--Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. All of them were the Prophets of God and thousands of them were, over the centuries, sent into the world to guide mankind. In the history of the last few thousand years, one can see the recurrent arrival of Prophets whenever kufr(disbelief) increased and assumed menacing proportions. The prophets tried to stop the tide of disbelief and invited people towards Islam. Some people adopted the Islamic way of life, but others rejected it. The people who followed the Prophets became Muslims and, after learning higher ethical and moral disciplines from them, began to preach and spread nobility and goodness. Having forgotten the teachings of Islam, later generations of Muslims themselves gradually sank into disbelief. Whenever such a situation arose, God sent a Prophet or Messenger to revive Islam. This continual arrival of Messengers of God continued for thousands of years. In the course of those long years, Islam was revived by those Prophets, who restated the Message forgotten by their people. At long last God sent the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who revived Islam in such an outstanding fashion that it still exists today and will continue to exist (God willing), till eternity. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born in 571 C.E. in the now famous city of Arabia called Makkah. Whatever there is that is not their own is doomed to be destroyed Alija Izetbegovic Srebrenica inferno is the name of a poetry book by Alija Izetbegovics consultant Cemalettin Latic who is also the writer of the old Bosnian anthem. He chose that name for his last book to be able to express what Bosnians experienced in Srebrenica. This year is the 11th anniversary of the Srebrenica Massacre. Bosnians ceaseless grievances are instilled once again. In the ten-day-long massacre which started in July 6th 1995, nearly 10,000 people were murdered in a brutal way. Srebrenica massacre actually represents the recurrence of the past if you look in to the history, which is full of messages. There have been many Srebrenica massacres in the past first starting in 1844 with Ilija Grasanin, then going on in the World War II by Draza Mihajlovic massacres. Ethnical purification processes carried out here and there with the policy purifying the ones who has become Turks and even sometimes with the motto wherever is a Serb, it is Serbians land! were all Srebrenica Massacres. There was acted a bloody and horrible drama says a Serbian writer Milovan Djilas about the events happened in Shahovici in 1924 in his book entitled Land Without Justice. But as public memory also weakens as human memory or if ethnical purification is set as an objective by a mighty authority there is not left much that can be done. Unfortunately ethnically purified regions like Srebrenica, more than a hundred concentration camps, burnt down mosques, massacres and more than 500 mass graves were not the result but the reasons of the war. Srebrenica was ethnically Bosnian before the war with its over 75 percent Bosnian population and Serbian population constituted only 23 percent. It was one of the six Bosnian cities which were announced as secure region by the United Nations. As it was pronounced as secure some 45,000 people from neighboring were also crowding the city. French General Jacques Morillon said The United Nations will protect and never leave you. But the guard of the whole region was left to 400 Dutch UNPROFOR. When the city was assaulted by the Serbian armed bands and Ratko Mladic on 6th of June those Netherlanders who were supposed to protect the region didnt shoot even one bullet at them. Even some joined Serbians attacking Bosnians. Indeed US intelligence had been aware of the massacre right one month before the attack. They had heard Serbian General Ratko Mladic and Yugoslavian General fixing a big massacre. But as the war was heading towards an end that intelligence wasnt really paid any attention. A report on the massacre published in 2002 overthrew the government from power in the Netherlands but one cannot still help wondering what the United Nations, the NATO, the United States, the European Union and the entire international community were doing during those 10 days between June 6-16. What was more important while 10,000 men aged between 12 and 77 were being murdered? While the international community was still arguing about what to do, Serbian General Ratko Mladic said on the TV that it was high time to take revenge from the Turks and announced Srebrenica as a gift to Serbians on 11th of June. Obviously the silence and indifference of the international community had been clearly understood in the Serbian side. It was not a massacre carried out despite the international community, they themselves encouraged and backed the executioners with their indifference in Srebrenica. A witness of the massacre said: Serbs gathered Muslims of whom they knew or heard something about and questioned them. Then they made them dig pits Bands murdered around 500 people on the first day.
