Activists from across the U.S. descended on the HRC fundraising dinner in Washington DC on Saturday, October 6 2007. They were protesting the HRC decision NOT to oppose a newly introduced version of the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (ENDA) that was stripped of the language which would have protected transgender people. <a href="http://www.ifge.org/Article351.phtml">http://www.ifge.org/Article351.phtml</a>

October is <a href="http://www.hrc.org/issues/coming_out.asp">National Coming Out Month</a> and October 11th is National Coming Out Day. Have you been in the closet for a while and tired of hiding it and trying to act like, and be, someone you're not? Coming out is NOT about shouting it out and telling everyone (though it does require you to talk to some people like close friends and/or relatives), but it's more about you being able to accept yourself and not care what others think of you for being yourself. When you get to that point where you can say, "Oh well, if someone wants to hurt me or worse just because of who I am, that's their problem and I'm willing to take that chance, but I AM going to BE ME. To help you with coming out, get the <a href=" http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/campaign/coming_out_day_kit_standard">HRC Resources For Coming Out Kit</a>. Also, if you are already "out", as the campaign says, "Talk About It". Help make it easier for others to "come out". Just a reminder, there is a "Coming Out" topic in the Forums on this Channel for you to post your "coming out" stories. Representaive Baldwin will be submitting an amendment that would put gender identity/perceived gender/transgender protections into the version of ENDA being considered by the full House.

On Nov 9, 2007 the House of Representatives passed ENDA (Employment Non Discrimination Act) only after HRC (Human Rights Campaign) and Barney Frank dropped "gender" protections in order to obtain "gay" protections. I have one word for them: COWARDS
