Get Eco-chic With the New Mary Kay® Compact and recycling drive!
Pink is doing green! Beauty leader Mary Kay announces the "Mary Kay Compact Recycling Drive" to coincide with the launch of the new eco-friendly Mary Kay® Compact featuring an innovative refill system that is estimated to eliminate 60 million units of packaging, helping to cut more than 60,000 tons of carbon emissions. Starting today, consumers are invited to turn in their previous platinum and pink Mary Kay® Compacts for recycling – either by providing them to their Independent Beauty Consultants or by going to www.marykay.com to find an Independent Beauty Consultant.
For every compact returned, Mary Kay will plant a tree in the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana and Idaho through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and under the direction of the U.S. Forest Service – with a goal of planting an entire forest. The new Mary Kay® Compact, available today with 18 million possible color combinations, also gives women the opportunity to "green" their beauty routine in another way.
"The 'Mary Kay Compact Recycling Drive' is inviting women to feel wonderful about looking wonderful!" said Rhonda Shasteen, Mary Kay senior vice president of global brand strategy. "By recycling their previous Mary Kay Compacts, women everywhere can become part of an environmental movement that includes our new eco-chic refillable compact. It's never been easier to beautify yourself and the environment simultaneously!"
After years of researching women's daily cosmetic needs and practices, Mary Kay developed the sleek, black-cased refillable and customizable compact to deliver what women really want and need when it comes to makeup. From vivacious color choices to product contents never before offered by Mary Kay, all of the compact's color components are mineral-based formulas that offer supreme coverage and long-lasting wear.

Langkawi 99 magical islands By www.ozonetv.net
Langkawi, a cluster of 99 islands separated from mainland Malaysia by the Straits of Malacca, is a district of the state of Kedah in Northern Malaysia and lies approximately 51km west of Kedah. The total land mass of the islands is 47,848 hectares, while the main island of Langkawi itself has a total of 32,000 hectares. The main island spans about 25km from north to south and slightly more for east and west. The coastal areas consist of flat, alluvial plains punctuated with limestone ridges. Two thirds of the island is dominated by forest - covered mountains, hills and natural vegetation. The name "Langkawi" is believed to be related to the kingdom of Langkasuka, centred in modern-day Kedah. The historical record is sparse, but a Chinese Liang Dynasty record (c. 500 AD) refers to the kingdom of "Langgasu" as being founded in the 1st century AD. 'Langkawi' mean's Eagle Island, it may be noted, and indeed there is a great abundance of eagles in the area. In Kuah, there is an eagle monument in Eagle Square which commemorates the origin of Langkawi's name.
Langkawi is also the site of the Mahsuri legend. The legend speaks of a young woman who was accused of adultery and was executed by the public despite her pleading innocence. Mahsuri, before her death, made a curse on the island for seven generations of bad luck. Langkawi eventually came under the influence of the Sultanate of Kedah, but Kedah was conquered in 1821 by Siam and Langkawi along with it. The Anglo-Siamese Treaty of 1909 transferred power to the British, who held the state until independence, except for a brief period of Thai rule under the Japanese occupation of Malaya during World War II. Thai influences remain visible in the culture and food of Langkawi, while Thai language is still understood by many on the island.
Langkawi was the site of the Langkawi Declaration, issued by the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Nations and making environmental sustainability one of the priorities of the Commonwealth.

BIG IDEAS FOR A SMALL PLANET: Drive 1
Too much car, too little person?
He has a good point about spending a large amount of money to power
and move a vehicle 20 times heavier than you,,,
I agree any of us unconcerned about clean water, air and earth are
certainly selfish. The government medling in our lives however, impedes
our right to self determination. The junk science impacts our abilities to
freely produce and consume in good concience. Al Gore is the ultimate
tyrant, he benefits from frightening the feeble minds while he consumes
beyond compare. His only product is fear and wasteful paranoia.

ZapRoot Unearthed | Monsanto Corp. for a Better America
I would like to talk to you today about the face of evil. We have no more
Hitler, no more Pol Pot. Gone are the quaint icons of evil in the last
century. Today we usher in a new version of evil, for our new century.
Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you a promotional video from the Monsanto
Corporation.
Monsanto is responsible for such great hits like, developing Agent
Orange & Bovine Growth Hormone, being the largest provider of
genetically modified food sources on the planet, Water Privatization,
creating terminator seeds (seeds that are genetically designed to only
grow once and not reproduce), and Round-Up Ready food, corn and
grain that are genetically resistant to pesticides and continue to live
while everything around them is eradicated. Monsanto seeks to
outbreed all other genetic strains of produce like corn, so that all corn
growers must buy seed from them.
What is the big deal, you say? Consider this, there is no governmental
oversight of genetically modified food producers in the US, none.
Instead, the EPA tells the corporations to use Best Practices. Which
translates to, you guys police yourselves. And we all know that
corporations always keep the publics interest in mind. For these and
other fun facts watch The Future of Food . It is a deceptively boring title
for what is an amazing documentary.
