Ten years ago I was in a band with my friend Dave Zachariah. He passed away years ago, drowning in Lake Taupo. When we were writing he came to me with a simple two track tape with his first ever lead guitar attempt and rythm on it and I wrote these lyrics and sung over the top to create this tune. When Dave disbanded our band he gave me this song for my own solo act because he knew it was my favourite and we never really played it as part of our set. I almost cried when I dug this old song out of the archives. I want to get this proffessionally produced and send any profits to his child. or at least keep his memory alive by releasing this song. The rythm guitar in this tune is Dave Zachariah and the lead guitar by Ahtongi Achong. The bass was originally Matt Wilson but I had to relay my own bass playing over the top as it was too low in the original mix. I re recorded the vocals and added my own guitar track. The original elements were looped from an old practice cassette of our band practice at the now demolished Maramalade studios practice space. The tapes were all second generation copies cause Dave stole my fucking originals. God bless him! lol!
